Julian Howsare

School: Clarion
Position: DE
Bio: Four-year starter awarded All-American honors every season since his sophomore campaign. Led Clarion in tackles last season with a career-best 86. Sophomore numbers included a career-high 14 sacks.
Positive: Tremendous small-school pass rusher with marginal measurables for the next level. Plays with leverage and good pad level, fast off the edge and works his hands protecting himself. Displays a good change of direction, can bend off the edge and goes after ball carriers. Instinctive and keeps the action front of him.
Negative: Easily knocked from his angle of attack or disrupted from the action by the initial block. Lacks balance and body control. Shows stiffness in his game.
Analysis: Howsare was a tremendous small-school pass rusher but lacks the size for defensive end and speed for linebacker at the next level. His best and potentially only opportunity lay as a designated pass rusher if he plays well on special teams.
