Cedric Reed

School: Texas
Position: DE
Bio: Two-year starter awarded all-conference honors after each season. Senior totals included 73 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks after 79/19/10 the prior year.
Positive: Tall, fluid defensive line prospect with athleticism. Displays a good change of direction, easily chases the action laterally or gets outside the flanks in pursuit. Fires off the snap with a quick first step, effectively uses his hands to protect himself and stays with assignments. Reads the action, finds the runner and makes the play.
Negative: Tends to play tall and makes himself an easy target for blockers. Not strong at the point and easily controlled by opponents. Comes off a disappointing senior season.
Analysis: Despite poor results in 2014, Reed been a disruptive force and projects well as a defensive end in a four-man line.
