Norman Hayes

School: Harvard
Position: CB
Bio: Three-year starter awarded All-conference honors since his sophomore season. Posted a career-best two interceptions as a junior. Lined up at safety as a senior.
Positive: Underrated defensive back with solid instincts. Effectively reads and diagnoses plays, has a quick step to the action and a burst to the ball out of his plant. Quick closing on passes, displays a sense of timing and plays heads-up football. Works to get up the field then wraps up ball carriers.
Negative: Lacks great range. Undersized for the safety position and gets washed from the action. Lacks deep speed and will struggle in downfield coverage.
Analysis: Hayes is an intelligent defensive back who rarely has mental breakdowns but lacks great physical skills for the next level. He does enough things well to get consideration as a ninth defensive back if he performs well on special teams this summer.
