Marcus Peters

School: Washington
Position: CB
Bio: Three-year starter who played in eight games last season before being dismissed from the Washington program. Finished the year with 30 tackles, 3 INTs and 7 PBUs.
Positive: Talented cornerback with the size and ball skills to start at the next level. Quick flipping his hips, moves well laterally and shows an explosive burst to the pass. Physical, mixes it up with receivers throughout the route and effectively tracks the pass in the air then correctly times his pass defenses. Positions himself against opponents to break up throws, uses his size as an advantage and fights throughout the play.
Negative: Displays poor hands for interceptions and lets catchable throws slip by. Average long speed and struggles staying step for step with opponents. Very quick out of his backpedal. Has an impulsive personality.
Analysis: Peters possesses the physical skills to be a starter in the NFL as a bump-and-run or zone cornerback but has lapses in concentration both on and off the field.
