Garry Peters

School: Clemson
Position: CB
Bio: All-conference selection as a senior after posting 52 tackles while breaking up a team-high 15 passes. Came off the bench the prior two seasons.
Positive: Nice sized cornerback with a developing game. Engages receivers at the line, fluid flipping his hips and quick pedaling in reverse. Keeps an eye on the quarterback, nicely tracks passes and effectively times his break to the throw. Displays good recognition and awareness, keeps the action in front of him and stays with assignments. Forceful and defeats blocks then gets up the field to make plays against the run.
Negative: Possesses poor deep speed and a liability in downfield coverage. Average overall quickness in his game.
Analysis: A late bloomer, Peters was not rated by scouts prior to the season then turned himself into a draftable prospect after a tremendous campaign last year. He's a bump-and-run or zone corner that can lineup in nickel packages and play special teams.
