B.J. Finney

School: Kansas State
Position: C
Bio: Four-year starter who was three times named as an all-conference player and awarded Big 12 Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2014.
Positive: Marginally athletic center who gets the most from his ability. Smart, effectively quarterbacks the offensive line and keeps his head on a swivel. Starts with good knee bend, sinks his hips at the line of scrimmage and fires off the snap into blocks. Stays square, keeps defender's in front of him and anchors in pass protection. Keeps his feet and hands active throughout the action. Quick out to the second level and nicely redirects to linebackers.
Negative: Not a dominant drive blocker and does not move defenders off the line. Poor athlete and may not be a good fit for a zone-blocking system.
Analysis: Finney was a consistent force at Kansas State and is an intelligent competitor who plays hard. He has enough skill to make a roster as a backup lineman at either center or guard.
