Solomon Patton

School: Florida
Position: WR
Positive: Moved into the starting role last season and posted a team leading 44 receptions, 556 yards, and 6 TDs. Also averaged 29.2 yards on 22 kick returns with one more score. Part-time player the previous three years, never starting a game. Explosive slot receiver prospect who also impacts games returning kicks. Smooth off the line of scrimmage and has a burst, which he turns on in a single step then stretches the field vertically. Fast in a straight-line or laterally, comes back into the clearing to make himself an available target, and elusive running after the catch. Creates yardage, slippery, and tough to catch. Nicely makes the over-the-shoulder reception at full speed, adjusts to errant throws, and quickly transitions running after the catch. Extends his hands, catches the pass away from his frame, and looks the ball in. Sharp route runner, quickly getting into breaks and staying low on exit, separating from defenders. Terrific kick returner and also productive running reverses.
Negative: Has height and size limitations. Easily brought down at the point of attack by a single defender. Loses out in battles.
Analysis: Patton is an underrated skill player who can help a team in the NFL as a slot receiver/return specialist/reverse runner. He plays bigger than his listed size and is a prospect who's really fallen under the radar.
