Ryan Lankford

School: Illinois
Position: WR
Positive: Played in seven games last season before suffering a shoulder injury, which ended his campaign. Started nine games the previous year and posted a career-best 469 receiving yards. Quick, reliable receiver who struggled to develop his game. Adjusts to errant throws and skillful running after the catch. Comes back into the clearing to make himself an available target, gets up high in a crowd, and displays good eye-hand coordination. Shows both soft and strong hands with the ability to pull the ball from the air.
Negative: Thin and struggles in battles. Minimally productive and coming off a severe shoulder injury.
Analysis: Lankford was highly rated by scouts entering the season who stamped his as a third round choice. He's more potential than production and will have to develop his game on a practice squad next fall.
