Mike Davis

School: Texas
Position: WR
Positive: Full-time starter the past three seasons after playing five games with the first team as a true freshman. Senior totals included 51 receptions, 727 yards, and 8 TDs. Career-best 57 receptions and 939 yards came during his junior season. Well-sized receiver with good playing speed. Deceptively fast, stretches the field, and beats opponents in a foot race. Makes the difficult over-the-shoulder reception downfield. Gets vertical and fights to come away with the ball. Exposes himself to big hits in order to make catches. Shows a lot of skill running after the catch. Comes back into the clearing, adjusts to errant throws and looks the ball into his hands.
Negative: Does not display a quick release off the line of scrimmage. Must give better effort blocking.
Analysis: Davis is an athletic prospect who plays smart football and consistently produced on the college level. He comes with upside and offers possibilities as a third receiver if he elevates his game.
