Colin Lockett

School: San Diego State
Position: WR
Positive: Three-year starter who also doubles as a kick returner. Senior totals included 52 receptions, 736 yards, and 5 TDs when he also averaged 24.5 yards on 31 kick returns. Career-best totals of 58 receptions, 970 yards, and 8 scores came during his sophomore campaign. Underrated dual-threat skill player with a consistent game. Smooth, quickly releases off the line of scrimmage, and immediately gets to top speed. Displays outstanding eye-hand coordination, extends to make catches away from his frame, and adjusts to grab the pass in contorted positions. Plays with excellent balance and body control, and shows a tremendous amount of quickness. Effectively uses the sidelines, runs crossing patterns with speed, and easily makes the downfield reception.
Negative: Does not possess strong hands. Struggled with injuries in the past. Lacks a second gear.
Analysis: When healthy, Lockett was a consistent performer for San Diego State. He offers possibilities as a fifth receiver/slot receiver/return specialist at the next level.
