Chris Boyd

School: Vanderbilt
Position: WR
Positive: Did not play in 2013 after being dismissed from the Vanderbilt program. Entered a conditional guilty plea in attempting to cover up the rape of an unconscious student. Junior totals of 2012 included 50 receptions, 774 yards, and 5 TDs. Big, strong possession receiver with a reliable game. Fluid releasing off the line of scrimmage, quick to top speed, and easily adjusts to make catches downfield. Extends his hands, snatches the pass from the air, and consistently grabs the ball away from his frame. Uses his frame to box out defenders and competes to come away with the ball. Solid downfield blocker.
Negative: One-speed receiver and lacks a second gear. Doesn't make good use of his hands separating from defenders.
Analysis: Boyd is a well-sized, possession receiver with the ability to line up as a number five at the next level. His off-field issues are serious and will be considered by any team with a degree of interest in him.
