Joe Don Duncan

School: Dixie State
Position: TE
Positive: Two-year starter awarded all-America honors as a senior after posting 71 receptions, 1045 yards, and 13 TDs. Missed the 2012 season with a knee injury and did not workout at the combine because of a foot issue. Large, thick tight end prospect with dependable hands. Finds the soft spot in the defense, nicely adjusts to errant throws, and extends to snatch the ball from the air. Plays with intelligence, toughness, and works hard. Turns up the field running after the catch, powerful, and breaks tackles to pick up extra yardage. Stays square as a blocker and seals opponents from the action.
Negative: Possesses average quickness and speed. Not a downfield threat. Poor route-runner. Did not dominate as a blocker on the small-school level. Has a long medical history.
Analysis: Duncan passes the eyeball test and offers polished pass-catching skills as well as blocking potential. His injury history will push him deep into the draft and raise red flags amongst a number of NFL teams.
