Jack Mewhort

School: Ohio State
Position: T
Positive: Three-year starter who's lined up at left tackle as well as left and right guard. Large, efficient blocker with a solid game. Blocks with leverage, anchors in pass protection, and turns defenders from the action. Makes outstanding use of angles and body positioning to seal defenders from the play. Quick out to the second level. Works his hands throughout the play and engulfs defenders at the point of attack. Sets with a wide base, bends his knees, and shows tremendous recognition and awareness.
Negative: Lined up at left tackle but struggles adjusting and does not display top footwork off the edge. Not built for a zone-blocking system.
Analysis: Mewhort has the size, body type, and wherewithal to start in the NFL at right tackle or guard. He lacks great upside but is a polished prospect and could break in with the first team as a rookie.
