Cyrus Kouandjio

School: Alabama
Position: T
Positive: Two-year starter at left tackle. Tall, pass-protecting blindside blocker coming off a disappointing season. Sets with a wide base, stays square, and anchors in pass protection. Effectively places his hands into opponents, knocks them from their angle of attack, and keeps defenders in front of him. Strong, has a thick build, and turns defenders off the line run blocking. Flashes power at the point and the ability to control opponents.
Negative: Bends at the waist, overextends and leans on opponents. Lacks overall playing balance. Does not sink his butt at the line of scrimmage. Exploited by speed rushers throughout the 2013 campaign. Red flags at the combine came on an arthritic left knee.
Analysis: After a tremendous sophomore campaign in 2012, Kouandjio took a step back last season. When hitting on all cylinders he's a dominant left tackle prospect with immediate starting potential. Then again the 2013 film coupled with medical reports from the combine make Kouandjio a second-day prospect who may be forced to the right side.
