Ben Gottschalk

School: SMU
Position: T
Positive: Two-year starter who's lined up at both guard and tackle. Athletically limited blocker who plays with solid fundamentals. Stays square, keeps his feet moving on contact, and effectively seals opponents from the action. Works his hands throughout the play, blocks with good lean, and anchors in pass protection. Makes good use of angles, displays terrific hand punch, and knocks rushers from their angle of attack.
Negative: Lacks great size, strength at the point, and an average run blocker. Minimally effective blocking in motion.
Analysis: Gottschalk has shown consistent improvement the past two seasons and offers the skill and versatility to be an eighth offensive lineman in the NFL.
