Isaiah Lewis

School: Michigan State
Position: S
Positive: Three-year starter coming off a slightly disappointing season. Posted a career-best 80 tackles and 6 pass defenses as a junior in 2012. Average-sized safety best facing the action. Physical, plays with an aggressive attitude, and explodes up the field to defend the run. Decisive, moves well in every direction, and wraps up tackling. Effectively picks up coverage assignments in the middle of the field, shows a quick burst to the action, as well as a sense of timing. Plays faster than his 40 time and shows awareness.
Negative: Struggles in man-coverage situations. Overmatched by larger receivers. Struggled during Senior Bowl practices.
Analysis: Lewis was a consistent contributor at Michigan State but did not elevate his game in 2013. He's a nickel back best suited to play in a zone system and a prospect who should contribute on special teams.
