Cameron Loeffler

School: Jackson State
Position: S
Positive: Junior-college transfer and one of Jackson State's top tacklers the past two seasons. Tough, run defending safety best playing downhill. Keeps the action in front of him, remains disciplined with assignments, and effectively picks up coverage responsibilities between the numbers. Quarterbacks the secondary and works well with cornerbacks. Fast up the field, sells out on the blitz, and a tough, aggressive run defender.
Negative: Lacks the quick change of direction and slow getting outside the numbers to make plays. Times poorly in the 40 and does not play fast.
Analysis: Loeffler was a consistent presence on the Jackson State defense the past two seasons but is a limited athlete with marginal upside. He's a traditional strong safety who must play well on special teams to make an NFL roster.
