Shakir Bell

School: Indiana State
Position: RB
Positive: Four-year starter name to several all-America squads since his sophomore season. Tremendously productive small school runner with size limitations. Elusive, quickly cuts back against the grain, and shows the ability to avoid defenders everywhere. Works his runs, not afraid to take it north-south, and keeps his feet moving on contact. Possesses the quickness and agility necessary to turn the corner, follows blocks everywhere, and uses a straight arm to keep runs alive. Incredibly elusive, bounces around piles, and loses little momentum changing direction. Has a burst and does not go down without a fight. Natural receiver out of the backfield.
Negative: Small and easily brought down by a single defender. Lack of height poses a problem as quarterbacks have difficulty finding him out of the backfield.
Analysis: Bell was a terrific football player who's been productive on the small school level but size and growth limitations pose problems for the next level. He offers possibilities as a third-down specialist and could make a roster if he shows skill on special teams.
