Fabian Truss

School: Samford
Position: RB
Positive: Three-year starter who's also been used as Samford's kick returner in the past. Patient and elusive runner with marginal size and speed for the next level. Runs low to the ground, waits for blocks to develop, and will pick and choose his spots on the inside. Slippery, squirts through the small openings, and a terrific open field runner. Strings several moves together, makes defenders miss, and quickly gets through the cutback lanes. Has a burst through the hole, keeps his feet moving on contact, and plays through the whistle. Solid receiver and effortlessly adjusts to errant throws.
Negative: Lacks strength and easily stopped at the point of attack by a single defender. Possesses just a short burst of speed and cannot beat defenders into the open field.
Analysis: Truss was a solid collegian but lacks the measurables and athleticism for the next level. He could make a roster as a fourth back if he excels on special teams over the summer.
