A.J. Blue

School: North Carolina
Position: RB
Positive: Posted 298 yards and one touchdown as a senior after missing three games with injury. Totaled a career-best 433 yards and 9 touchdowns as a junior. Suffered a major injury to his left knee during his freshman season of 2009. Powerful, big-bodied runner who does the little things well. Displays solid footwork and agility for a bigger back. Effective catching the ball out of the backfield and works to pick up positive yardage. Strong downhill runner who pounds it out on the inside, breaking tackles and picking up the difficult yardage. Carries the pile or runs through defenders over the course of a single carry.
Negative: Displayed average speed and showed a marginal burst last season. Lacks the ability to turn the corner.
Analysis: Blue had an inconsistent college career, much of it due to his struggle with injuries. At the top of his game he's a big bodied runner effective in short-yardage situations and could line up in a rotational system.
