Kirby Van Der Kamp

School: Iowa State
Position: P
Positive: Four-year starter awarded all-conference honors as a senior after averaging 41.6-yards on 84 punts. Had 17 punts of 50 yards or longer with 27 of them downed inside the 20-yard line. Precise, strong legged punter with a large body of work. Effectively handles the poor snap and quickly gets the ball off his foot. Drives the ball getting terrific hang time on punts, can flip the field and allows coverage units to make plays on the ball. Outstanding directional punter with the ability to consistently place punts when necessary.
Negative: Has a thin build and struggles tackling ball handlers if necessary. Was a consistent punter throughout college but never elevated his game.
Analysis: Van Der Kamp was a productive punter for the Iowa State program since his freshman campaign and was credited with 289 punts over his four-year career. He's a polished prospect who can kick for distance or direction and is very likely one of the few punters from the 2014 class who will make an NFL roster next season.
