Xavius Boyd

School: Western Kentucky
Position: OLB
Positive: Three-year starter who led Western Kentucky in tackles last season with a career-best 103. Underrated linebacker prospect who showed development the past two years. Quick, immediately gets to the action, and nicely redirects to runners. Aggressive, works hard, and sells out to make the tackle. Displays excellent lateral movement skills and quickly gets out to the sidelines in pursuit of the action. Fast up the field, breaks down well, and uses his hands to protect himself. Shows good awareness in coverage.
Negative: Average size. For the most part, average skills in coverage.
Analysis: Boyd was a productive three-year linebacker for Western Kentucky and a prospect who's slipped through the cracks. He has enough skill to be used at a variety of linebacker positions in the NFL and possesses a special teams mentality.
