Devon Kennard

School: USC
Position: OLB
Positive: Senior totals included 60 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and a team-leading 9 sacks. Missed the 2012 season with a torn chest muscle. Versatile defender who consistently plays smart, tough football. Bends his knees, works his hands, and holds his ground. Rarely knocked off his feet and displays a solid change of direction, with the ability to immediately alter his angle of attack. Wedges between blocks to get behind the line of scrimmage, and finds ways to make plays. Efficient and intelligent, and effectively diagnoses the action. Solid pass rusher with a good closing burst.
Negative: Lacks bulk, struggles getting off blocks, and can be neutralized by a single opponent. Average skill making plays in space or in pursuit.
Analysis: Kennard made a successful return to the field last season and consistently put himself in a position to make plays on the ball. He lacks great next level measurables, but will be an effective back-up in the right system.
