Christian Jones

School: Florida State
Position: OLB
Positive: Three-year starter used at both outside linebacker and defensive end. Senior totals included 56 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and two sacks. Led the Seminoles with 95 tackles as a junior. Physically gifted prospect with a large upside. Breaks down well, flows to the action, and displays speed moving to every angle. Sifts through the traffic, covers a lot of ground, and is quick getting to the play. Fluid, flexible, and explosive. Fast up the field defending the run, can bend off the edge as a pass rusher, and gets depth on drops. Squares into runners and wraps up.
Negative: Struggles taking on blocks and easily pushed from his angle of attack. Gets lost in coverage. Flashed brilliance as a sophomore but never really elevated his game.
Analysis: Jones is an athletic prospect with the potential the play in a variety of the defensive systems at the next level. Despite starting three years at Florida State, he's still rough around the edges and must complete his game to realize the potential scouts believe he offers.
