Khairi Fortt

School: California
Position: ILB
Positive: Penn State transfer who started nine games last season, finishing with 64 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss. Athletic inside linebacker prospect who flashed skill in college. Breaks down well, uses his hands to protect himself, and shows ability in pursuit. Easily changes direction, gets depth on pass drops, and covers a lot of ground. Remains disciplined with assignments. Has a closing burst and is effective making plays in space. Fast off the edge and flashes skill as a pass rusher.
Negative: Was never a consistent force in college. Struggles getting off blocks and is easily knocked from his angle of attack. Shows indecision and inefficiency.
Analysis: Fortt is an athletic prospect who's shown skill as a pursuit defender with the ability to make plays in space. However, he needs to step up his game and play well on special teams if he wants find a home on the inside of a 3-4 defense at the next level.
