Jordan Zumwalt

School: UCLA
Position: ILB
Positive: Two-year starter who posted 93 tackles and intercepted 2 passes last season. Junior totals included 71 tackles and 8 tackles for loss. Hard-charging, intense linebacker who gets the most from his ability. Displays quickness and explosion. Fast up the field filling gaps to defend the run and plays with a nasty attitude. Possesses a burst of closing speed. Fluid getting out to the edge laterally and effective in pursuit. Properly diagnoses plays, breaks down well and crashes outside the box defending the run.
Negative: Inefficient. At times plays out-of-control and takes improper angles to the action. Average skill in coverage. Adequate size/speed numbers and struggles getting off blocks.
Analysis: Zumwalt is a high-motor defender who plays with a feisty attitude and does whatever necessary to make plays. He lacks great physical skill, but is an overachiever with potential at a number of linebacker spots.
