Mike Nelson

School: Central Washington
Position: G
Positive: Four-year starter who spent his first three seasons at right tackle before moving to the left side as a senior. Well sized college tackle expected to play guard at the next level. Smart, fundamentally sound and gets leverage on opponents. Stays square and makes excellent use of body positioning and angles. Quickly sets up off the snap and effective with his hands. Strong at the point, controls defenders and steers them from the action. Tough, works hard and attacks assignments.
Negative: Best in a small area. Not quick or fluid pulling across the line of scrimmage and minimally effective blocking in motion. Lacks smmoth/natural footwork sliding off the edge.
Analysis: Nelson was productive and durable on the small school level and possesses the size as well as skill to make an NFL roster as an 8th offensive lineman that could back up for multiple positions.
