Marc Murtha

School: South Dakota
Position: G
Positive: Two-year starter at right tackle and guard. Struggled with injuries the past two years and played a combined nine games. Quick, fluid blocker more athletic than his computer numbers would lend one to believe. Keeps his feet active throughout the action, keeps his head on a swivel, and shows good blocking awareness. Quick if asked to pull across the line of scrimmage and block in motion. Stays square, can slide his feet in pass protection, and displays a good hand punch.
Negative: Must improve his overall playing balance. Average run blocker and does not get much movement. Has struggled with injuries lately. Will test poorly.
Analysis: Murtha is a well-sized prospect who plays faster than his 40 time and can be used in a variety of roles. He offers possibilities in a zone-blocking scheme but must get his health back on track and show durability to have any chance of making it out of camp.
