Jimmy Holtschlag

School: Western Illinois
Position: G
Positive: Three-year starter awarded all-Conference and academic all-America honors the past two years. College right tackle who projects to guard at the next level. Strong, nasty lineman who works hard though the play. Quickly sets up off the snap, keeps his feet moving, and stays square. Easily seals defenders from the action and strong at the point.
Negative: Lacks lateral blocking range, rumbles around the field, and ineffective blocking in motion. Not a natural knee bender.
Analysis: Holtschlag was a productive and durable college lineman who got the most from his ability but lacks great athleticism and upside for the next level. His football smarts and his versatility could help him catch on as an inexpensive backup.
