James Markosian

School: Utah State
Position: G
Positive: Two-year starter at guard. Short, low-to-the-ground blocker best in a small area. Quick off the snap, keeps his feet moving, and bends his knees. Keeps his head on a swivel, works his hands in pass protection, and blocks with a nasty attitude. Consistently gets leverage on opponents and anchors at the point. Stays square and shows ability as a position blocker. Displays the ability to slide out in pass protection. Strong enough to turn defenders from the action and open up the running lanes.
Negative: Ducks his head, falls off blocks, and rarely finishes. Not a dominant drive-blocking lineman.
Analysis: Markosian is an efficient lineman who got the most from his ability and displays a good deal of versatility. He lacks classic height but could back up at guard in the right system.
