Davonte Wallace

School: New Mexico State
Position: G
Positive: Four-year starter at left tackle. All-conference selection in the past. Underrated blocker who plays with fundamentals and athleticism. Bends his knees, gets leverage on opponents, and moves relatively well around the field. Quickly gets into blocks, displays strength at the point of attack, and works through the whistle. Effectively slides his feet in pass protection, makes good use of angles, and displays good lateral blocking range. Adjusts to oncoming defenders and gets a pad on them to disrupt their angle of attack.
Negative: Does not finish blocks and must get stronger. Average size/speed numbers.
Analysis: Wallace was productive and durable at New Mexico State, displaying the ability to handle the left tackle spot. He has enough skill to get consideration as a zone-blocking guard if he finishes his game.
