David Yankey

School: Stanford
Position: G
Positive: Three-year starter who lined up at both left guard and left tackle. Named to numerous all-America teams since his freshman season. Durable, consistent blocker with a polished game. Sets with a wide base, blocks with good lean, and works to bend his knees. Stays square, makes good use of angles, and jolts opponents with powerful hand punch. Keeps his head on a swivel, works well with teammates, and shows good awareness. Shows the ability to pull across the line of scrimmage and block in motion.
Negative: Lacks great footwork in space and struggles sliding in pass protection. Stiff and slow adjusting to oncoming blitzers. Lacks finishing strength.
Analysis: Yankey was consistent on the college level but is presently overrated by many. He has enough skill to find to develop into a starter in the NFL, but comes with limitations.
