Tim Jackson

School: North Carolina
Position: DT
Positive: Totaled 25 tackles in 12 starts as a senior. Started seven games at nose tackle the prior year and finished with 18 tackles. Adequately sized prospect with possibilities at a number of defensive line positions. Moves well laterally, quickly changes direction, and displays a short burst of speed. Plays with good pad level, keeps his hands active throughout the play, and was constantly double-teamed by opponents.
Negative: Does not make many plays on the ball and is more of a gap occupier. Lacks overall playing balance. Despite his measurables, plays more like a small-area defender.
Analysis: On paper Jackson looks as though he offers potential as 3-technique tackle or two gap end, but must quickly elevate his game to have any opportunity at the next level.
