Robert Thomas

School: Arkansas
Position: DT
Positive: Junior-college transfer who's been an occasional starter the past three seasons. Played in seven games last year totaling 31 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks before suffering a broken leg. Short but quick defensive tackle who occupies blocks. Plays with good pad level, shows power in his lower body, and gets push up the field. Effectively uses his hands to protect himself, displays an adequate change of direction and the ability to move laterally. Keeps his feet moving on contact and quick in all his actions.
Negative: Marginally productive and never consistently broke into the starting lineup at Arkansas until last season then broke his leg. Displays limited pass-rushing skill.
Analysis: Thomas was a promising prospect who displayed flashes of pulling his game together last season before being sidelined with injury. He offers potential as a conventional defensive tackle and could even play on the nose in certain one-gap systems.
