Tevin Mims

School: South Florida
Position: DE
Positive: Junior-college transfer who started the past two seasons, posting a career-best 40 tackles and 6 tackles for loss as a senior. Undersized college defensive end who projects to linebacker in the NFL. Quick off the snap, plays with good lean, and fast off the edge. Displays solid movement skills, shows the ability to immediately alter his angle of attack, then pursue from the backside. Easily proceeds down the line of scrimmage to chase the action and effectively uses his hands to protect himself or disengage from blocks.
Negative: Easily controlled at the point of attack by a single blocker. Marginally instinctive and slow locating the ball. Minimally productive the past two seasons.
Analysis: Mims is a work in progress but displays the underlying ability to get consideration as a developmental linebacker. His natural pass rushing skills are added value.
