Shahid Paulhill

School: Temple
Position: DE
Positive: Former starter who played in just five games last season. Hampered by suspensions in the past. Athletically gifted prospect who had a roller coaster career in college. Fires off the snap with a terrific first step, breaks down well, and slides off blocks to make plays. Displays good movement skills, flashes power, and has the ability to bull rush opponents off the line of scrimmage. Fluid if asked to twist or stunt, shows pass rushing as well as playmaking skills and a closing burst of speed. Occasionally stood up over tackle and does a solid job.
Negative: Does not consistently play hard or chase the action. Lacks bulk and handled by single a blocker. Had several off the field issues at Temple.
Analysis: Paulhill showed a lot of ability in the past but never elevated his game or played to a high level of consistency. He's an athletic lineman who could be used as a two-gap end or play the 3-technique but must get his act together and decide if he wants a career in the NFL.
