Stanley Jean-Baptiste

School: Nebraska
Position: CB
Positive: Moved into the starting team on a full-time basis last season then posted a career-best 41 tackles while breaking up 12 passes and adding 4 interceptions. Large, physical defensive back whose game is moving north. Plays with athleticism, nicely adjusts to defend the throw, and displays good hands for interceptions. Easily stays down field with opponents, possesses a burst of closing speed, and gets vertical to defend the pass. Quick up the field in run defense and mixes it up with opponents. Solid job reading receivers eyes then getting his head back around and locating the pass in the air.
Negative: Bites on receivers' moves or ball fakes. Does not show a smooth or quick backpedal. Takes incorrect angles to the action and will miss open field tackles.
Analysis: Jean-Baptiste is a physical specimen who displayed great improvement last season. He lacks the natural quickness to play in man coverage but could get opportunities in a zone system or at the safety position.
