Marcus Williams

School: North Dakota State
Position: CB
Positive: Four-year starter who totaled 21 interceptions in his college career. Smooth, fluid cornerback with outstanding ball skills. Displays a good head for the game, effectively diagnoses the play, and shows an explosive burst of closing speed. Mixes it up with receivers, battles throughout the play, and quickly locates the pass in the air. Fluid backpedaling, quick flipping his hips and loses nothing in transition. Shows a terrific burst to the ball out of his plant. Effective kick returner in the past.
Negative: Long speed is a concern. Never proven to be a stout run defender.
Analysis: Williams is a skilled cornerback rarely challenged by opponents and came up big when the ball was thrown in his direction. He's a potential dime back/return specialist at the next level who needs to pick up the tempo of his run defense.
