Marcus Roberson

School: Florida
Position: CB
Positive: Started four of the seven games he played last season, missing time with suspension and a knee issue. Final totals included 11 tackles and 3 PBUs. Started four games the prior year, finishing with 23 tackles, 12 PBUs and 2 INTs. Nice-sized cornerback with an undeveloped game. Patient, stays with receivers laterally, and displays a sense of timing on pass defenses. Smooth transitioning off the line, displays the ability to quickly break to the ball out of his plant, and has a closing burst of speed. Works hard to defend the run and plays with an aggressive style.
Negative: Slow reacting to receivers off the line and loses a half step from the snap of the ball. acks long speed and will be a liability in deep coverage. Slow reacting when the balls in the air.
Analysis: Roberson was never a consistent force for Florida because of a variety of reasons and comes with an unpolished game. He possesses the size and ability to be used in zone coverage and on special teams but will need work before he's NFL ready.
