Lamarcus Joyner

School: Florida State
Position: CB
Positive: Three-year starter awarded All-America honors as a senior after posting 69 tackles, intercepting 2 passes and breaking up another pair. Instinctive college cornerback with limited upside potential. Tough, quick up the field defending the run, and sells out on the blitz. Plays faster than his 40 time. Shows a burst out of his plant and the ability to recover. Moves well in a straight-line or laterally, shows great range in centerfield, and covers a lot of ground. Shows skill in man-to-man coverage situations.
Negative: Played safety of Florida State but lacks the height to stay at that position. Will be a liability in downfield coverage. Does not possess the size to be used in press coverage.
Analysis: Joyner is a terrific football player but a prospect who does not pass the eyeball test. Despite poor measurables, Joyner's instincts and competitive nature will help him succeed in the proper system.
