Kendall James

School: Maine
Position: CB
Positive: Athletic small school corner with terrific ball skills. Plays heads-up football, quarterbacks the secondary, and instinctive. Shows good route recognition in zone, remains discipline with assignments, and quick footed moving in every direction of the field. Possesses a solid burst of closing speed and explodes to the ball out of his plant. Easily runs laterally with opponents, consistently has quarterbacks looking away from him, and displays a sense of timing.
Negative: Loses a half step transitioning with opponents off the line and at times struggles making plays with his back to the ball. Must be more consistent with his backpedal. Classified by scouts as soft.
Analysis: James possesses the speed and skill to line up as a dime back in the NFL if he toughens up and displays ability on special teams.
