Dexter McDougle

School: Maryland
Position: CB
Positive: Played in just three games as a senior before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. Finished the year with 14 tackles, three interceptions. and two pass breakups. Initially broke into the starting lineup as a sophomore. Nice-sized cornerback who displayed a lot of skill before the shoulder injury last season. Instinctive and immediately locates the ball in the air. Effective facing the action, quick up the field to help defend the run, and shows an explosive burst to the play out of his plant. Quick to close to the action. Wrap-up tackler.
Negative: Plays soft coverage and gives up a lot of underneath receptions. Peeks into the backfield, bites on ball fakes, and gets beaten.
Analysis: McDougle has the size and skill to play at the next level but comes off a serious shoulder injury which has raised red flags. If healthy and at the top of his game, he has the ability to make a squad as a nickel back.
