Josh Allen

School: Louisiana-Monroe
Position: C
Positive: Three-year starter at both left guard and center. Underrated blocker on the pivot with a terrific game. Plays with leverage, keeps his feet moving, and works his hands throughout the action. Stays square. Strong at the point and anchors in pass protection. Keeps his head on a swivel, recognizes blitzes, and effectively gets a pad on defenders to knock them from their angle of attack. Initially moves defenders off the line and plays with quickness. Terrific with shotgun snaps.
Negative: Stiff athlete. Overextends into blocks, hurting his balance and ability to finish off opponents.
Analysis: Allen is a smart, tough offensive line prospect with the size to play in the NFL. He'd be effective in a variety of blocking systems and will make a roster if he learns to do the little things well.
