Gus Handler

School: Colorado
Position: C
Positive: Started 12 games at center last season, and 10 during his sophomore campaign. Played in just five games as a junior due to knee and ankle injuries. Hard-working blocker on the pivot who plays with terrific fundamentals. Bends his knees, stays square, and gets leverage on opponents. Keeps his feet moving, displays good vision, and works through the whistle. Fires off the snap into blocks and is explosive at the point of attack. Effectively quarterbacks the offensive line.
Negative: Marginal athlete who is ineffective blocking in motion. Lacks the dominant lower body and gets pushed back off the line.
Analysis: Handler is a hard-working center who plays the position with great intelligence but lacks the physical skills for the next level.
