Gabe Ikard

School: Oklahoma
Position: C
Positive: Four-year starter who began his career at left guard before sliding into center. Awarded varying degrees of all-America and all-conference honors since his freshman season. Intelligent and explosive center who does the little things well. Displays outstanding vision, shows a nice feel for the game, and keeps his head on a swivel. Plays with good pad level, works his hands throughout the action, and blocks with solid fundamentals. Smooth and fluid if asked to pull across the line of scrimmage, shows ability on the second level, and removes defenders in the secondary. Plays with a nasty attitude and works through the whistle. Outstanding with the shotgun snap.
Negative: Not a dominant run blocker. Needs a running start and struggles with one-on-one assignments.
Analysis: Ikard is an underrated prospect who combines fundamentals, intelligence, and toughness to beat opponents. He's a terrific fit for a zone-blocking system and offers possibilities at multiple positions.
