Xavier Boyce

School: Norfolk State
Position: WR
Bio: Virginia Tech transfer awarded both all-America and all-Conference honors the past two seasons, leading Norfolk State in receiving both years. Totaled 58 receptions/623 yards/14 TDs as a senior after 68/750/4 the prior year.
Positive: Large possession receiver with dependable hands. Works hard to make himself an available target and extends to make receptions away from his frame. Keeps the play in bounds when running after the catch and tries to pick up positive yardage. Uses his long frame to shield away defenders and protect the pass. Consistently catches the ball with his hands, not his body. Shows good focus and the ability to make difficult catches in a crowd.
Negative: One-speed receiver who lacks a burst. Marginal skill set running after the catch. Poor route runner.
Analysis: Boyce offers nice size yet possesses limited speed for the next level. He will get consideration as a fifth receiver used in the red zone.
