Robert Woods

School: USC
Position: WR
Bio: Three-year starter awarded all-Conference honors the past two seasons after being named to several all-America teams as a sophomore. Junior totals last season included 76 receptions/846 yards/11 TDs. Posted career-best numbers of 111/1292/15 as a sophomore when he also averaged 23.1 yards on 17 kick returns and 9.1 yards on 13 returns. Freshman receiving totals included 65/792/6.
Positive: Productive wideout effective running after the catch. Fluid releasing off the line, quickly gets into breaks, and runs sharp routes. Double-cut receiver who gets separation from opponents, and extends to make receptions away from his frame. Quickly transitions from making the catch to running after receptions, keeps the play in bounds, and shows the ability to elude defenders or create yardage. Possesses soft hands, easily adjusts to errant throws, and snatches the pass from the air. Has a burst of speed, which he turns on in a single step. Easily makes receptions in stride and shows good overall awareness.
Negative: Not a strong, sturdy receiver and struggles in battles. May have difficulty handling the jam in the NFL. Not a true vertical threat.
Analysis: Woods comes off a slightly disappointing junior season in which he struggled with ankle issues throughout the year. When healthy and at the top of his game he's a talented wideout who could lineup as a number two at the next level. Woods offers the skills to line up in a traditional offense or a West Coast system.
