Jessie Grandy

School: Central Arkansas
Position: WR
Bio: Mississippi transfer awarded all-America and all-Conference honors last season as both a receiver and return specialist. Pass catching numbers included 61 receptions/797 yards/7 TDs. Special teams results included an average of 12.5 yards on 19 punt returns with one score. Junior receiving totals included 49/788/9.
Positive: Explosive pass catcher who also doubles as a return specialist. Smooth, fluid receiver who comes back to the ball out of breaks and extends to make receptions away from his frame. Uses his frame to shield away opponents and protect the pass. Quick to his top speed, shows a burst, and nicely tracks deep passes, looking the ball into his hands. Instantaneously alters the momentum of games with long kick and punt returns.
Negative: Does not display a second gear running deep pass routes. Marginal timing on receptions. Undersized and loses out in battles.
Analysis: Grandy has shown consistent progress the past two seasons and his skills as a return specialist will be attractive to NFL teams.
