Ben Cotton

School: Nebraska
Position: TE
Bio: Full-time starter the past three seasons totaling 18 receptions/239 yards/2 TDs as a senior after 14 receptions for 189 yards the prior year.
Positive: Big tight end with solid pass catching skills. Bends his knees, plays with leverage, and works pass routes. Nicely adjusts to errant throws and extends to make receptions away from his frame. Makes difficult catches in a crowd with defenders draped on him. Gives effort blocking and gets to the second level to handle linebackers. Fundamentally sound and uses his hands well.
Negative: More of an intermediate pass catching threat and lacks the speed to get downfield. Average strength at the point of attack and does not finish blocks.
Analysis: Cotton was an adequate college player but lacks the athleticism to be anything other than a third tight end at the next level. He possesses the frame to get stronger, which will only improve his blocking.
