Xavier Nixon

School: Florida
Position: T
Bio: Three-year starter who lined up at both left and right tackle for Florida.
Positive: Athletic, pass-protecting tackle with upside. Quickly gets into blocks, bends his knees, and sets with a wide base. Possesses better than average footwork in pass protection, stays square and keeps the defender in front of him. Makes good use of blocking angles, fights with his hands, and consistently blocks with leverage. Solid skills getting out front and blocking in motion. Moves well on his feet and shows the ability to adjust to pick up blitzers or hit a moving target.
Negative: Lacks the dominant strength in his base and struggles finishing blocks. Does not seem to play with great balance or awareness. Plays back on his heels at times. Shows stiffness in his game.
Analysis: Nixon has been a consistent lineman at Florida the past three seasons and offers the skill and growth potential to be used at either tackle or guard in the NFL.
